Our subscription databases require us to limit access to CBC students, faculty and staff; we use an app called 'libaccess' to route users through our CBC login to do that. Our database links should start out with 

https://apps.columbiabasin.edu/apps/libaccess/libaccess.aspx?url=

so you end up at our Off Campus Library Access page and can choose your CBC login. For example, the link to Academic Video Online is

https://apps.columbiabasin.edu/apps/libaccess/libaccess.aspx?url=http://video.alexanderstreet.com

Once you have logged in the URL in your address bar looks like this: 

https://libaccess.columbiabasin.edu:2856

That is temporary - once you close the tab/browser it won't take you back to the page you left. Instead, it will take you to 'login.htm' asking you for a username and password you don't have.

Permalinking: What you need is a permalink. Most of our databases have a 'share' or chain-link icon that provides you with a URL for the document, video or recording you have displayed. 

In Academic Video Online the 'share' link is at the top of this video, and provides this permalink:

https://video.alexanderstreet.com/watch/do-you-trust-this-computer

That works fine on the CBC campus network, but off-campus you need the libaccess prefix, so to 'permalink' to the video the link becomes: 

https://apps.columbiabasin.edu/apps/libaccess/libaccess.aspx?url=https://video.alexanderstreet.com/watch/do-you-trust-this-computer

Our EBSCOhost databases create permalinks with the libaccess prefix built-in - just click the permalink button and copy/paste (you can shorten the link if your instructor allows it):

Whoops! If you click a library link that starts with www.columbiabasin.edu/apps/mycbc/general/misc/libaccess.aspx?url= and it takes you to a 404 'Whoops! We can't find the page' error you should be able to fix it by cutting that out and replacing it with https://apps.columbiabasin.edu/apps/libaccess/libaccess.aspx?url= (it may also work to just replace the www with apps). This problem was caused when we switched to a new college website.
