How can I get online help from a librarian or use library resources from home?

Answer

The options below are always available, wherever you are, whether campus is open or closed.

Ask a Question or Get Help:

  • E-mail - Library support is always available via email at library@columbiabasin.edu.  Your librarians can help with research, citations, and any other questions you may have about library resources.  Have a question? Please ask!

  • Chat with a Librarian- On the right side of this page you can chat with a librarian. This chat box connects you to a librarian at CBC who would be happy to help you during regular hours while classes are in session.  An after hours librarian will help you at any time of day or night 24/7.

Do Research and Find Information:

  • Researching and Finding Information - Start here: https://www.columbiabasin.edu/library.  On this page there is a search box that will search all library resources at once, and also links to specific research tools.

Not sure where to start?  A great place to begin your research is EBSCO Discovery Services.

You may also use this link for a list of all library databases.  There are many individual resources listed here, which may feel overwhelming.  This list is useful if you know the specific resource, or area, you would like to search.

  • Login - most CBC Library databases are limited to currently enrolled/employed CBC users. You will use the same login credentials as for other CBC online resources, such as Canvas: your CBC email/password.

  • Troubleshooting Access - Students who have forgotten their email address can use the Find My ID/Email tool.
